RAAS MFI participated in a two-day specialized training on Islamic Banking and Development Finance, organized by the Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank (SDRB) in collaboration with the ISRA Institute at INCEIF University, Malaysia.

The training brought together professionals from Somalia’s commercial banks and Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), providing an important platform for strengthening knowledge, exchanging experiences, and enhancing institutional capacity within the country’s Islamic financial sector.

Throughout the two-day program, participants explored key areas of Islamic banking and development finance, with particular emphasis on the development and delivery of Sharia-compliant financial services, risk management, regulatory compliance, and development finance. The sessions provided participants with valuable insights into practices and approaches that can contribute to stronger, more responsible, and sustainable Islamic financial institutions.

For RAAS MFI, continuous professional development is an important part of strengthening institutional capacity and maintaining high standards in the delivery of financial services. Participation in the training contributes to enhancing the knowledge and technical capabilities required to develop financial solutions that are responsive to the needs of individuals, entrepreneurs, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), while remaining firmly aligned with the principles of Islamic finance.

RAAS MFI appreciates the Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank (SDRB) and ISRA Institute for organizing and facilitating this valuable capacity-building initiative and for their contribution to strengthening the knowledge and professional capabilities of Somalia’s Islamic finance sector.

RAAS MFI remains committed to investing in the continuous development of its people and institutional capabilities. Through capacity building, knowledge exchange, and professional development, the institution will continue working to provide high-quality, innovative, responsible, and Sharia-compliant financial solutions while contributing to financial inclusion and sustainable economic development in Somalia.
